About The Magnesium Guide
The Magnesium Guide is an independent publication covering magnesium supplementation — the different forms available, how they compare, and what peer-reviewed research actually says about their effects.
About the author
Articles on this site are written by Rob Ellison. Content is researched using peer-reviewed studies (via PubMed and Cochrane reviews where available), NHS and NIH guidance, and manufacturer specification sheets. Rob Ellison has not personally trialled every product reviewed on this site; where a recommendation is based on published research rather than first-hand use, this is stated in the article.
How we research articles
- Primary sources first. Claims about absorption, dosage, or health effects are checked against published studies, not repeated from other blogs.
- NHS/NIH guidance for safety information. Interaction warnings and upper intake limits are sourced from official health bodies.
- Updated when guidance changes. Articles carry a “last updated” date and are revisited if new research or regulatory guidance emerges.
- No claims about curing or treating conditions. This site describes what research shows about magnesium’s role in normal bodily function; it does not claim to diagnose, treat, or cure any condition.
